Compact Uniform Field Electrode Profiles
In order to obtain high output powers from transversely excited pulsed lasers it is important to have a very uniform energy loading of the active gas medium. That is why there is a need for specially contoured electrodes which produce a very uniform field strength over a certain amount o f surface. A number o f authors have given solutions to this problem. Up to now, Rogowski profiles [ 1] are ...
متن کاملUniform Convergence to a Left Invariance on Weakly Compact Subsets
Let $left{a_alpharight}_{alphain I}$ be a bounded net in a Banach algebra $A$ and $varphi$ a nonzero multiplicative linear functional on $A$. In this paper, we deal with the problem of when $|aa_alpha-varphi(a)a_alpha|to0$ uniformly for all $a$ in weakly compact subsets of $A$. We show that Banach algebras associated to locally compact groups such as Segal algebras and $L^1$-algebras are resp...
متن کاملUniversal Uniform Eberlein Compact Spaces
A universal space is one that continuously maps onto all others of its own kind and weight. We investigate when a universal Uniform Eberlein compact space exists for weight κ. If κ = 2<κ, then they exist whereas otherwise, in many cases including κ = ω1, it is consistent that they do not exist. This answers (for many κ and consistently for all κ) a question of Benyamini, Rudin and Wage of 1977.
متن کاملUniform interpolation and compact congruences
All seven intermediate logics admitting Craig interpolation also admit uniform interpolation; however, although the modal logic K admits both properties, its extension S4 admits only Craig interpolation and not uniform interpolation (see [1] for details and references). Uniform interpolation for a logic may be viewed as a weaker form of quantifier elimination. This idea is exploited in the mono...
متن کاملUniform continuity over locally compact quantum groups
We define, for a locally compact quantum group G in the sense of Kustermans– Vaes, the space of LUC (G) of left uniformly continuous elements in L∞(G). This definition covers both the usual left uniformly continuous functions on a locally compact group and Granirer’s uniformly continuous functionals on the Fourier algebra. We show that LUC (G) is an operator system containing the C∗-algebra C0(...
